Job Summary:

The Carpenter will be responsible for performing a variety of carpentry tasks, from framing and roofing to finish work and installations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of carpentry principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Framing: Constructing and erecting building frameworks, including walls, floors, and roofs.

  • Roofing: Installing and repairing roofing systems, including shingles, tiles, and other roofing materials.

  • Finish Carpentry: Installing trim, doors, windows, cabinets, and other interior and exterior finish work.

  • Blueprint Reading: Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and materials required.

  • Material Selection and Estimation: Selecting appropriate materials and accurately estimating material quantities.

  • Tool and Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operating hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and nail guns.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Site Cleanup: Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  • Collaboration: Working effectively with other tradespeople, contractors, and clients.

  • Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving carpentry-related issues.

  • Measurements and Layout: Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping materials.

  • Repairs and Maintenance: Performing repairs and maintenance on existing structures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter.

  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and building codes.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.  

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.  

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Trade school diploma, preferred but not required

Inside Sales Representative 

DC Recruiting is looking for a person with inside sales experience to join a great company in Haldimand County. This is a remote, commission based opportunity. Main Duties:

  • Cold calling companies to sell advertising to be placed on products used in the Racing circuit.

  • Identify and qualify potential leads through various channels (phone, email, social media).

  • Present product/service information and address customer inquiries.

  • Provide quotes and proposals.

  • Close sales and achieve sales targets.

Employment Requirements: 1-3 inside sales experience.

Experience in with commission base pay.

Automotive Mechanic

DC Recruiting is looking for candidates with automotive experience to work at a shop in Haldimand County. 310T and 310S mechanics and unlicensed candidates are welcome to apply. See the job description below and apply if this is a fit for you.

 

Main Duties:

  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor.

  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment.

  • Move tools, equipment, and other materials to and from work areas.

  • Assist in repairing, maintaining, and installing industrial machinery and equipment.

  • Assist in mechanical, electrical and body repairs of automobiles, trucks, and heavy equipment.

  • Perform other labouring and elemental tasks as required.

 

 

Employment Requirements:

Automotive experience is a must.

310T or 310S mechanics are preferred.

 

Hours:

Monday to Saturday for 40 hours per week

 

Wage:

$25-$35 per hour – depending on experience and/or certification

Renovation Carpenter 

DC Recruiting is searching for a Renovation Carpenter in Caledonia, Ontario. Work is centered around interior renovations and some outdoor work such framing new structures such as decks and pergolas.

 

Main Duties:

 

  • Read and accurately interpret plans/drawings/blueprints and organize materials accordingly.

  • Carpentry duties to include; Demolition & rebuilds, framing, load bearing wall removals, support beams, window and door installation, HVAC preparation, trim work, drywall, trim, finishes.

  • Hands on; measure, cut, assemble, and join mouldings, woodwork, install drywall, fit and install hardware, build walls, install vanities, storage units etc.

  • Outside duties including building decks, pergolas and other outdoor structures.

  • Skillfully and safely operate hand & power tools.

  • Material and Tool Management; Maintain supply lists; ensure tools are available, maintained and in good working order.

  • Basic pluming and electrical knowledge.

  • Pick up and deliver required materials to job sites ongoing.

 

Employment Requirements:

 

  • Completion of an apprenticeship program and/or 3-5 years of experience with residential renovations.

  • Sound knowledge of the Ontario Building Code

  • Experience with residential renovations

  • Ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with other trades/vendors, clients, and co-workers.

  • Ensure worksite is clean and compliant as per safety rules, regulations, and company policies.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organization, planning and prioritization.

  • Clean drivers abstract with G Licence.

  • Have your own transportation.

  • Must be able to provide a criminal check.

  • Honest and ethical with high performance standards.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Excellent attendance.

 

 Hours:

  • Full-time consistent working hours between 8am-5pm Monday to Friday

  • Overtime as required.

 

Additional Information:

Candidates must have a G class license and a clean driving record.
